Requirements and eligibility criteria for The United Nations Nippon Foundation Fellowship 2023:

Age: Between 25 and 40 years.
Education: Successful completion of a first university degree, demonstrating the ability to undertake independent advanced academic research and study.
Professional Background: Mid-level professional from a national government organ of a developing state, or another governmental or non-governmental agency in such a state, directly involved in ocean affairs issues. The candidate’s professional position must allow them to directly assist their country in formulating and/or implementing policies in this area.
Research and Study Programme: Proposed research and study programmes should directly contribute to their nation’s formulation and/or implementation of ocean affairs and the law of the sea policies and programmes.
Obligations: Must be free from any non-Fellowship obligations throughout the entire Fellowship period, unless authorized by the Division.
