Applications are now open for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme for the 2024/2025 academic session. The University of Edinburgh is excited to invite students from developing Commonwealth countries to apply for a fully funded study opportunity.

The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme, a collaboration between the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and UK universities like the University of Edinburgh, aims to provide master scholarships for students from developing Commonwealth countries. This opportunity allows students who might not have the means to study in the United Kingdom to pursue their education.

The University of Edinburgh, established in 1582, is one of the oldest and most esteemed universities in the UK. With a rich history spanning centuries, it has been a hub of academic excellence and innovation. The university played a pivotal role during the Enlightenment, producing influential thinkers like David Hume and Adam Smith. Its medical school saw breakthroughs, including Alexander Fleming’s discovery of penicillin. Over time, the university expanded its academic offerings and facilities, evolving into a globally recognized institution known for its quality education and pioneering research.
