Fulbright FLTA Program 2024/25 for Foreign Graduates

Suitable qualified foreign graduates and educators from 50 countries around the globe are encouraged to apply for the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program for the 2024/25 academic session.

The United States Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) provides full sponsorship of the Fulbright FLTA Program. It takes FLTA’s to the United States where they are expected to teach and promote their native languages.

Teaching assistants are posted in institutions of higher learning in America to teach and assist in foreign language teaching. The program has assistants for over 30 languages and these language assistants are posted in hundreds of colleges and universities in the US.

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria Fulbright FLTA Program 2024/25 for Foreign Graduates:

Reside in the country of nomination at the time of application.
Possess the equivalent of a U.S. Bachelor’s degree with a good academic record; Master’s degrees are highly desirable.
Early career teacher of English or training to become one, or early career educator in a related field; prior teaching experience preferred.
Sincere interest in teaching native language and culture to students in the U.S.

Fluent in English, with a recent score of no less than:

550 (Paper Based TOEFL)
79-80 (Internet Based TOEFL-IBT)
6.0 (Overall Score International English Language Testing System – IELTS)

Duration:

The Fulbright FLTA grant is for one academic year (approximately 9-10 months).
