Masters Excellence Grant 2024-2025 at University of Lausanne
Applications are welcome from suitably qualified applicants University of Lausanne (UNIL) Master’s Excellence Grant 2024/2025 academic session. The Masters Scholarships are scholarships for excellence awarded, exclusively to students who have graduated from a foreign university and whose academic results are of a very high level.
The Master’s scholarship is awarded for at least the statutory time required for the program selected by the student. This comes to 1,600 CHF per month (for further particulars see “General conditions for the award of a Master’s Excellence Grant”.

Requirements and eligibility criteria;
- International students with excellent academic results who apply for the Master’s Grant.
- Candidates with very high academic performance (no specific grade requirement by country).
- Applicants must have completed a degree from a foreign university, equivalent to a Swiss bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS credits).
- Students already enrolled in a Master’s program at UNIL or in their preparatory year cannot apply.
Scholarship Benefits:
- First Year: CHF 19,200 for the academic year, distributed as CHF 1,600 per month (12 months).
- Second Year: Up to CHF 16,000, with CHF 1,600 per month for the academic year (10 months). If the program is 90 ECTS credits, CHF 12,000, with CHF 1,600 per month for the first semester (5 months).
- Exemption from course enrollment fees; only a semester fee of CHF 80 is to be paid.
- Potential accommodation in FMEL halls of residence, subject to availability.

To apply for the Masters Scholarship at UNIL, you must complete the online application form, which also serves as your application for admission to the chosen Master’s program. During the online application process, you’ll need to upload your complete application file in PDF format, following the specific document list provided.
Please note that incomplete applications or those sent by email will not be considered. Additionally, if your bachelor’s degree was issued by a university in a country that has not ratified the Lisbon Recognition Convention, you must send a certified copy of your university documents, sealed and certified by your university, via postal mail.
