The university played a role in the civil rights movement by integrating and promoting important discussions. Over time, Emory expanded its academic programs, became known for research excellence, and established itself as a leader in fields like medicine and healthcare. Today, it is a globally engaged institution with a diverse alumni community, known for its commitment to scholarship, research, and social impact.
