The 2023 IFAD Agrihub Nigeria Youth Agripreneurship Apprenticeship Program (YAAP) is an exceptional opportunity for passionate Nigerian youths between the ages of 18 and 29 who are interested in agriculture, particularly renewable energy solutions related to agriculture and its value chain.

The IFAD Agrihub Nigeria initiative aims to empower young Nigerians who are unemployed or interested in agribusiness to establish their own ventures or secure employment in the agricultural sector. With several programs already in place, the project is committed to enhancing the economic conditions of rural youth through a comprehensive approach that provides equal opportunities for all, including those with limited education. IFAD’s Agrihub project has partnered with BIC Farms Concepts to offer an education program on Soilless vegetable farming. The program aims to encourage young men and women to take an interest in agriculture by providing theoretical and practical training, as well as internship opportunities. Participants gain valuable knowledge and skills that can help them start their own agribusiness or secure employment in the agricultural sector.

Requirements and eligibility criteria for 2023 IFAD Agrihub Nigeria Youth Agripreneurship Apprenticeship Program (YAAP):

Applicants should be between the ages of 18 and 29.
Applicants must be passionate about agriculture, especially renewable energy solutions relating to agriculture and its value chain.
Applicants must be unemployed when applying.
Applicants must possess at least a junior or senior secondary school certificate and be literate in English or the local language.
Applicants resident in Siun/Ogere and Abeokuta, Ogun state (locations of the training facility) will be given preference.
Applicants must have access to a functioning mobile phone.
Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to participate in all aspects of the training.
Applicants with specific disabilities are also encouraged to apply. However, this must be clearly communicated during the application period.
Applicants must be ready to commit three months to this program.
Applicants must be willing to undergo an internship in relevant machine fabrication companies.
