This intervention, called the European Master in Migration and Intercultural Relations (EMMIR), is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Master’s program delivered by a network of nine institutional partners across Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Requirements and eligibility criteria;

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a field related to migration studies (e.g., Social Sciences, History, Law, Economics, Development Studies, Journalism).
  • Minimum final grade of C+ or equivalent, with certificate proof.
  • Submit final degree documentation, including grade details (a full transcript is acceptable).
  • Knowledge in migration studies, intercultural relations, and empirical methods (backed by modules, papers, essays, or exams).
  • Priority is given to applicants with relevant professional experience.
  • The last degree obtained should not be older than 5 years; if it is, an explanation is required in the statement of purpose.
  • EMMIR is for Master’s degree qualification; applicants already holding a Master’s must provide reasons for pursuing another.
  • Previous Erasmus Mundus Joint Master scholarship recipients are ineligible.

Scholarship Benefits:

  • Monthly stipend of €1,400 for 24 months.
