International AIDS Society Scholarship 2023 in Australia

The International AIDS Society is pleased to welcome applications from highly interested individuals who are currently working or who wish to volunteer in the field of HIV to their ongoing scholarship scheme for the year 2023 in Australia. The scholarship opportunity is also open for students who are currently studying.

The opportunity is both physical and virtual. That is the participants can either meet at the physical venues or can participate online. The scholarship scheme has numerous benefits attached to it ranging from accommodation, travel fare and some other allowances.

This scholarship scheme is open for individuals from the ages of 18 and above. The IAS conference on HIV science will take place from 23 to 26 July 2023. The conference will take place in Brisbane and Australia and will serve as a meeting point for the physical applicants whereas the virtual applicants can connect online.

Requirements and eligibility criteria for International AIDS Society Scholarship 2023:

Interested applicants must be abstract presenters whose submission has been selected for the conference
Interested applicants must be from low- and middle-income countries
Interested Applicants must be part of key populations and people living with HIV
Interested Applicants must be young people and junior investigators below the age of 35
Interested applicants must be who did not previously receive a scholarship for an IAS conference

In-person attendance:
Registration for in-person plus virtual attendance (access to all sessions at the conference venue, as well as access to the virtual platform)
Travel support (pre-paid economy class return ticket from the nearest international airport)
Accommodation (single room in a budget hotel)

For Virtual attendance:
Registration for virtual attendance (full online access to all conference sessions, including virtual networking sessions)
Accessibility support (exclusively for applicants with connectivity challenges to facilitate their access to the virtual content of IAS 2023)

Application Procedures for the 2023 International AIDS Society Scholarship (How to Apply):

Interested applicants who meet the above requirements and eligibility criteria for this opportunity are expected to answer some questions relating to their background and work experiences alongside submitting their letter of Recommendation.

The recommendation letter must be:

Written in English
Include a letterhead of your referee’s organization, company or institution
Dated within two months of the application submission and signed (original or digital signature) by the referee
Explicitly mention you and support your scholarship application and attendance of IAS 2023
In the application form, candidates will be able to indicate what attendance type they prefer and request different types of financial support.
