MSU is known for its research prowess, particularly in agriculture and natural resources, and is home to the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory, the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams, and the MSU Extension program, which provides education and resources to communities throughout the state. MSU’s sports teams are called the Spartans and are members of the Big Ten Conference.
