NEF Africa Energy Innovation Challenge 2024
Suitably qualified young entrepreneurs and professionals across Africa, aged between 18 and 35, are invited to apply for the 9th NEF Africa Energy Innovation Challenge 2024.
This great challenge requires teams to work hand in hand with local research institutes or industries to design, create, and implement prototypes addressing energy systems, financial technologies, or agriculture/Yield business solutions using local inputs.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be 18-35 years old and from Africa
- Teams of at least three people
- One team member must be from a local research institution or industry
- Teams can include members from different institutions, companies, or countries
- Use of local resources and expertise
- Originality and creativity in solving underdeveloped challenges
- Commercial viability and cost efficiency
- Clarity and realistic project timeline

Interested and eligible applicants should submit their application online at www.thenef.org/aeic. Please note the following:
- Use a Gmail account to upload the application on the online form.
- After submission, send a copy of the application (in Microsoft Word or PDF format).
- The email subject line should include your country and project title (e.g., [Country] Project Title).
- Submissions that exceed the page or word limit may be disqualified.
Shortlisted applicants will be asked to submit:
- A 1-page poster summarizing their design.
- A detailed budget.
- A 2-page design brief.
- A 2-minute video pitching their prototype.
- Applicants may submit multiple entries.
