WACSI’s Policy Influencing and Advocacy Internship Program 2023
The West Africa Civil Society Institute WACSI officially welcome new applications for WACSI’s Policy Influencing and Advocacy Internship Program 2023 for interested west Africa sub region.
The Policy Influencing and Advocacy Internship Program is a fully funded program that enhances participate civic consciousness and assist in developing their professional capacity and quality career. As a successful participate, you have huge advantage to gain from this internship program where internship flight to and from home country, furnished accommodation, lunch during working days for the duration of the internship and a monthly allowance is fully fund. The Policy Influencing and Advocacy Internship Program is for undergraduates and recently graduates, who are eager to be embedded in WACSI’s core areas of work i.e., Policy Influencing, Advocacy and Knowledge Management.
Policy Influencing and Advocacy Internship Program allows each candidate to participate in the Job Roles which includes: Conducting of desktop research on policy and legislative issues, assisting in gathering information and writing reports for policy meetings, assisting in policy meetings and workshop preparation, assisting in the development of policy advocacy training tool and Supporting other administrative tasks.

WACSI was established by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) in 2005 to reinforce the capacities of civil society in the sub-region. The Institute became operational in July 2007. The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) is a regional non-governmental organization that pledge to enlarge the competence of civil society organizations in West Africa to achieve a development effectiveness and sustainable operational goals.

Requirements and eligibility criteria for WACSI’s Policy Influencing and Advocacy Internship Program 2023:
To be one of the selected candidate for WACSI’s Policy Influencing and Advocacy Internship Program 2023 the following criteria below should be considered:
- Applicants must come from West Africa sub-region
- Applicants must have a minimum of a first degree in international affairs, political science, public policy, law, development studies or related fields.
- Applicants should also show an interest in civil society and non-profit organization management.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a high proficiency in English, French or Portugese and a working knowledge of one other.
- The successful intern will spend a substantial part of her/his internship working at the WACSI office in Accra, Ghana.
- The internship period is from January to June, 2023. Interns who are unable to complete the six-months internship will refund the total cost of the internship package to WACSI.
