The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) Agribusiness Innovation Challenge 2022 for women and youth-led agribased startups

Suitably qualified women and youth-led agribased startups in Kaduna are invited to submit application for the 2022 Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) Agribusiness Innovation Challenge worth about N5million in cash prize. The programme will run for a period of 6 months.

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) Agribusiness Innovation Challenge in partnership with CoLab is set to provide agribased startups in Kaduna with technical assistance training, improve their access to financial services, and develop their business concepts leveraging innovation to improve supply chain efficiency in the State. The innovation includes, production, processing, distribution, and marketing.

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a non-profit foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland. The Foundation was developed at the UN 2002 Special Session of the General Assembly on Children, supported by over 30 donors and work closely with international organisations and United Nations agencies to improve the consumption of nutritious and safe foods for all. The Foundation has a 20 year history of food system programmes in focusing on adolescent and child nutrition, food system research, fortification, small and medium enterprise assistance, bio-fortification of crops and reducing post-harvest losses. The Foundation has offices in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Tanzania with representative offices in Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Eligibility for The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) Agribusiness Innovation Challenge 2022 for women and youth-led agribased startups:

  • Applicants whose startups is relevant to improvement of the supply chain in Kaduna and their pitch decks.
  • Applicants pitch decks should include the name of their business, their unique value proposition, target markets, business surveys, business registration details, evidence of traction, problem statements and solution.

  • Startups will have the opportunity to win up to N5million in cash prize.
