UNITAR Great Ideas Space 2022: Entrepreneurship for Public Health and COVID-19 Recovery in Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon

UNITAR Great Ideas Space 2022 is glad to announce open application submission from entrepreneurs, leaders, and members of micro, small, and medium enterprises from Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon to turn their ideas into what will be beneficial for Public Health and COVID-19 Recovery

The aim of the programme is bring together entrepreneurs, leaders, and members of micro, small, and medium enterprises from the above mentioned countries to turn their ideas for a social or for-profit enterprise into a business model that addresses the challenges faced from the COVID-19 pandemic and contribute to building a resilient health sector in their region. The programme will run in two phases from September 2022 to March 2023 as follows:

  • Phase 1, 180 participants from Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon will be trained through the online programme on key topics in entrepreneurship and public health. Participants will complete self-paced online courses, peer-to-peer discussions, assignments, and webinars by regional and international experts in the field.
  • Phase 2, top-performing participants will further design and prototype their business/projects through in-depth training and mentoring. Kindly note that participants in this phase will also be invited to come together for in-person workshops in the Middle East or in Japan in early 2023. In-person activities are subject to change depending on the COVID-19 situation.

Benefits of the UNITAR Great Ideas Space 2022: Entrepreneurship for Public Health and COVID-19 Recovery in Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon:

  • Participants will receive a UNITAR certificate of completion if they complete the course and meet the minimum criteria.

Eligibility for the UNITAR Great Ideas Space 2022: Entrepreneurship for Public Health and COVID-19 Recovery in Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon:

  • Applicants from the private, public and civic sectors who are motivated to develop and bring to life innovative local solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic and contribute to building a resilient health sector are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be betwwen the ages of 18 to 45 years of age
  • Women with interest and experience in the field of entrepreneurship and public health are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must have good oral and written English language skills.
  • Applicants must have access to Internet and a computer or smartphone.
  • Applicants must have keen passion to learn by doing and highly motivated to contribute to COVID-19 recovery in Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon through self-led projects.
  • Applicants must have deep interest in entrepreneurship and public health.
  • Applicants must be actively engaged in the programme for its entire duration, including traveling in and outside the country to attend in-person training.
