The University of Oxford and Blavatnik School of Government in UK is pleased to announce open the application submission from exceptional Nigerians currently working in the Nigerian public sector who wish to pursue a masters degree programme in Public Policy at the institution to apply for 7th round of the 2023/2024 Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) Scholarships which covers tuition fee, living expenses, monthly stipends and others benefits.

The 2023/2024 Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) Scholarships is an initiative launched in 2017 to provide a unique Masters scholarship opportunity to exceptional West Africans students interested in a career in public service to pursue a Master of Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. Since its inception in 2017, over twenty-nine scholarships worth over £50,000 each have been awarded to future public sector leaders who have shown a passion for the public sector.

The University of Oxford is a collegiate research university in Oxford, UK. the university was established in 1096 with an evidence of teaching as early as 926 years ago, making it the oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world’s second oldest university in continuous operation. The university offers different degree programmes which are attended by both home and international students as a result of the numerous scholarship opportunities available each academic session.

The Blavatnik School of Government is a school of public policy founded in 2010 at the University of Oxford in UK. The school is also a part of the university of Oxford. The School offers a Master of Public Policy, an intensive one-year graduate degree programme which seeks to prepare students for a career in public service and other range of short courses.

Eligibility for the 2023/2024 Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) Scholarships at the University of Oxford in UK:

  • Applicants must be a Nigerian currently working in the public sector of the Ministries, Departments, Agencies & Parastatals at either Federal or State levels.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 25 to 45 years.
