2022/2023 FAO Regional Office for Africa (RAF) Internship Programme for Africans
Suitably qualified African applicants and qualified nationals of under represented member nations as well as applicants from Low-Income Food-Deficit Countries in Africa are invited to submit application for the 2022/2023 FAO Regional Office for Africa (RAF) Internship Programme which aims to defeat hunger and to achieve food security for all and make sure that people have regular access to enough high-quality food to live an active, healthy lives.
The FAO Regional Office for Africa (RAF) Internship Programme is an initiative of FAO that aims to attract talented young women and men who are strongly motivated to share their new perspectives, innovative ideas and latest research experience in the organisation’s territory. The Program provides a learning opportunity to the participants to supplement their academic knowledge with a practical work assignment in a field related to the work of FAO. Through the internship experience, interns will contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and FAO’s Strategic Framework to support the 2030 Agenda through the transformation to MORE efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agri-food systems for better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, where everyone is carried along.
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is an international organization that leads international efforts to defeat hunger and improve nutrition and food security. Its Latin motto, fiat panis, translates to “let there be bread” The organisation was founded on 16 October 1945 with over 194 member states. FAO works in over 130 countries all across the globe with the constant believe that everyone can play a part in ending hunger. In addition to its mission to end hunger, it also conducts research, provides technical assistance to projects, operates educational and training programs, and collects data on agricultural output, production, and development.

Eligibility for the 2022/2023 FAO Regional Office for Africa (RAF) Internship Programme for Africans:
- Applicants must be a registered undergraduate student in a reputable educational institution at the time of application(Check list of Eligible Institution)
- Applicants must specialize in a field relevant to FAO’s mission and work.
- Applicants must have a working knowledge of at least one FAO language like, Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish.
- Applicants must be from an FAO Member Nations.
- Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 30 years of age.
- Applicants must be able to adapt easily to an international multicultural environment and posses good communication skills.

Interested applicants are required to visit the recruitment website and complete their online profile that indicates their employment records, academic qualifications and language skills. Applicants are advised to also attach a letter of motivation and proof of attendance in a recognized university or copy of their academic qualifications.
