2023 Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship Program
The Global Citizen Scholarship Program 2023 for the 2023/2024 academic year is now open for applications to eligible international students, courtesy of the Ban Ki-moon Center. This scholarship is designed for Africa’s academically outstanding students who aspire to pursue postgraduate studies.
The Ban Ki-moon Center for Global Citizen is offering a fully-funded program to select 15 young African leaders who are committed to making a difference in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). This postgraduate scholarship aims to support active global citizens who are dedicated to the SDGs and lack access to educational opportunities, networking experiences, and peer-to-peer exchange. The program welcomes postgraduate candidates from all backgrounds.
The selected candidates will enjoy various benefits, such as full coverage of expenses for summer school training at the University of Bordeaux, skills training with MCI, and access to other expert workshops. Additionally, they will receive a 500€ seed grant to support the implementation of an SDG Micro-Project, which will be disbursed upon the submission of a successful project proposal. A Certificate of Achievement, signed by Co-chairs of the Ban Ki-moon Center, will be awarded to scholars upon the successful completion of the SDG Micro-Project. Moreover, successful scholars will become members of the Alumni Network and have their projects and profiles showcased on RELX’s SDG Resource Center, the BKMC website, social media platforms, and international forums.
