Simon Fraser University is currently accepting applications for the 2023 Scholarships for both Canadian and international students. Please note that due to the high number of applications received, scholarship funds may not be disbursed until the middle of the application term. We recommend planning accordingly. It’s important to know that if you have received an SFU entrance scholarship, you will not be eligible for any other scholarships administered by the university until the entrance scholarship has been fully awarded. This policy applies to any term in which the entrance scholarship is deferred.

Requirements and eligibility criteria for 2023 Scholarships for Canadian and International students at Simon Fraser University:
- Citizenship: Applicants must be Canadian or international students.
- Course Completion: Applicants must have completed at least 12 units of standard-graded courses at SFU.
- Course Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units of standard graded courses at SFU during the term of application.
- Minimum CGPA: Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.50 at SFU.
- Exclusions: Challenge, audit, and credit-free courses are not considered for eligibility.
- Co-op Enrollment: Enrollment in a Co-op term (3 units) does not fulfill the course enrollment requirement, as it is not considered a standard graded course.
- Students with Disabilities: Students with disabilities can apply for scholarships if they are enrolled in a minimum of 6 or more units of standard graded courses and meet all other eligibility requirements. They must provide a letter from SFU’s Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) confirming their registration with the Centre at the time of application.

Interested applicant who wants to apply for 2023 Scholarships for Canadian and International students at Simon Fraser University, must follow the steps below;
- Check the application period and the final deadline by referring to the Application Deadlines.
- Review the Summer 2023 Scholarship and Awards List to identify the scholarships or awards you wish to apply for.
- Access the Student Information System by logging in to go.sfu.ca.
- Click on “Student Center”.
- Navigate to the Financial Aid and Awards section located under Finances.
- Select “Apply for Scholarships/Awards”.
- On your online application, list the scholarships or awards you are interested in applying for.
- Complete the application form and submit it online.
- If any supporting documentation is required, email it to faawards@sfu.ca before the application deadline.
- It is recommended to set up Direct Deposit through the Student Accounts Office to receive any eligible refunds promptly.
