The Getty Scholars Program is now accepting applications for the Getty Scholars Grants 2025 from suitable qualified international students who love Arts, Humanities, and social science.

This program requires eligible students to participate in weekly lectures on an annual research theme, and engage in the intellectual community at the Getty which Establishes scholars or individuals with significant achievements in their fields. The Getty Foundation supports selected PhD students through grants, projects, and publications.

Requirements and eligibility criteria Getty Scholars Grants 2025 (Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences)

  • Must have received a PhD more than 5 years ago (before September 1, 2021).
  • Applicants from related fields without a PhD but with equivalent professional experience are also eligible.
  • Those who received their degree within the past 5 years (after September 1, 2021) should apply for a Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Project Proposal:

  • Description of the proposed study and research plan (maximum five pages, typed and double-spaced).
  • Explain how the project addresses the annual theme.
  • If relevant, detail how the Getty’s resources, including its library and collections, will be beneficial.
  • AAAHI applicants should describe how their projects will contribute to new knowledge in African American art history.
  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • Optional Writing Sample.
