Highly Intelligent students are encouraged to apply for the ongoing African Development Bank-Japan Africa Dream 2025 Scholarship. The scholarship aims to support citizens of AFDB member countries to acquire graduate education in Japan.

The fully-funded program offers high-achieving African students a two-year scholarship opportunity to pursue post-graduate studies at the master’s level in energy, agriculture, health, environmental sustainability, and engineering.

Requirements and eligibility criteria African Development Bank-Japan Africa Dream 2025 Scholarship

Must be a national of an AfDB member country.
Age 35 or younger.
Hold a bachelor’s degree in energy, agriculture, health, environmental sustainability, engineering, or related fields with excellent academic records.
Have at least 1 year of paid employment in your home country or another African country within the past 3 years after earning your Bachelor’s degree.
Not currently living or working outside your home country.
Not already enrolled in a graduate degree program.
Not an Executive Director or staff of the African Development Bank Group, nor a close relative of the aforementioned.
Must agree to return to your home country after completing the study program to contribute to its development.

Scholarship Benefits:

Tuition coverage for 24 months.
Monthly living stipend for 24 months.
Air travel from the home country to the host university and return after the scholarship period.
Health insurance.
Additional 6 months for preparatory study or internships post-graduation.
Special grants may be available for research and thesis preparation.
Possible coverage for courses like computer literacy or preparatory language under special circumstances.

Application Procedures for African Development Bank-Japan Africa Dream 2025 Scholarship (How to apply);

Complete an online application.
Request information and application forms from the chosen JADS partner university.
Apply for admission to the university.
The university evaluates applicants and provides a provisional offer letter.
The university sends the selected candidates’ list to the African Development Bank (AfDB).
AfDB and JADS Program Implementation Unit (PIU) evaluate the applications.
AfDB contacts successful candidates and informs the universities.
