British Army Recruitment 2024 for Commonwealth and Nationalities

The British Army is currently open to recruitment for Commonwealth citizens and nationals. Whether you have qualifications or not, there are a variety of roles available. You don’t need any formal qualifications to enlist as a soldier.

However, for certain technical or specialized positions, specific qualifications may be required. Detailed information about the requirements for each role can be found in the role descriptions on their official website.

Requirements and eligibility criteria;

British Citizens: Eligible to apply, including British Overseas Territory Citizens, British Overseas Citizens, British Subjects, British Nationals (Overseas), and British Protected Persons.
Irish Citizens: Eligible for the regular Army. For the Army Reserve, applicants must already reside in the UK.
Refugees/Asylum Seekers: Not eligible to join the British Army.

Commonwealth Citizens:

Eligible and valued members of the British Army.

2. Available Roles:

Applicants must apply for one of the following roles to be considered:
Musician
Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers
Royal Engineers Technician and Tradesman
Paratrooper

3. How to Calculate ALIS Score:

8 points: GCSE A/9, BTEC (level 2) Distinction
7.5 points: GCSE Low A – High A/8
7 points: GCSE A/7, NAT (level 5) A, BTEC (level 2) Distinction
6 points: GCSE B/6, NAT (level 5) B, BTEC (level 2) Merit
5 points: GCSE C/4&5, NAT (level 5) C, BTEC (level 2) Pass
4 points: GCSE D/3, NAT (level 5) D, NAT (level 4)

4. Soldier to Officer:

Requires 5 GCSE passes or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics at Grade C/4 (or higher) or the nationally recognized equivalent.
Candidates not meeting this requirement will undergo an assessment at the Army School of Education, Worthy Down, before being considered for the selection process.

To apply for the British Army, first, ensure that you meet the nationality requirements. Make sure your application is connected to the Recruit Bounty Referral Scheme, as applications not linked to this scheme (except for musicians) will be rejected.
