This is to invite all active and interested data science professionals to apply for the CAN Data Science Fellowship 2024. Programs such as the Capacity Accelerator Network (CAN) endeavor to build data science capacity for climate and health in Africa.

Fellows will be paid a monthly stipend to help cover the cost of living for the duration of the assignment and will be required to be physically present within the government department or SIO office for the duration of the assignment. The CAN Fellowship program consists of data science training and application in a six-month training scheme about particular utility in several African countries.

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria;

Must have completed a first university degree and demonstrate the ability to conduct independent advanced academic research.
Must have at least 3 years of experience in data management, analysis, and visualization.
Must possess strong communication skills and quantitative or qualitative analytical abilities.
Must have technology, systems development, big data, open data, and data science expertise.
Should be familiar with the contexts of African countries, particularly concerning climate and health.
Must be available for full-time duties, participating in various activities, and adhering to the program requirements.
