DAAD-SEARCA Scholarship Programme 2025 for Postgraduate Studies
Suitably qualified applicants are invited to apply for the DAAD-SEARCA Scholarship Program, which supports those aiming to pursue a fully funded master’s or doctoral degree within their home country or region.
This is for Masters and PhD students who are learners and are willing to commit their time to contribute to the communities through education and other research. The program not only covers full tuition but also cares about those who want to focus on how to make their society a better one.

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria;
- Open to nationals of Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Timor Leste, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Must be one of the following:
- A staff member of a public university
- A candidate considered for teaching or research staff recruitment
- Employed in the public sector
- Age requirements:
- No more than 40 years old for Master’s degree applicants
- No more than 45 years old for PhD applicants
The last university degree should have been completed within the last 6 years.
Proposed thesis research must align with SEARCA’s ATTAIN theme, focusing on topics such as:
- Agri-Business Models for productivity and income
- Sustainable farming and natural resource management
- Food and nutrition security
- Transformational leadership in Agricultural and Rural Development (ARD)
- Gender and Youth Engagement in ARD
- Climate Resilience in ARD
- Eco Health/One Health applications in ARD

Application Procedures (How to apply);
Interested applicants should complete an online application and submit all required documents by the deadline (late applications will not be accepted).
Required Documents:
- Application Forms – Complete both DAAD and SEARCA application forms online.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) – Include a list of publications (if any).
- Recommendation Letters – University teacher recommendations (1 for Master’s, 2 for PhD), stamped and signed as applicable.
- University Admission Proof – Admission notice or proof of application to the university.
Diploma/Certificates & Transcripts – Certified copies of diplomas and transcripts: - For Master’s: Bachelor’s diploma and transcript.
- For PhD: Bachelor’s and Master’s diplomas and transcripts.
- Letter of Motivation – 1-2 pages (Master’s) or 1-3 pages (PhD), including personal motivation, social impact, and study/project plans.
- Passport/National ID Copy – Copy of bio-page from passport or National ID.
- Timetable (If applicable) – Include any planned research stay in Germany.
- Research Description – Brief overview of research planned for thesis/dissertation.
- Medical Certificate – Certification from a licensed medical doctor.

Additional for PhD Applicants:
- Acceptance Letter – Declaration of acceptance from academic supervisor.
