Suitably qualified students are invited to apply for the Erasmus Mundus REPLAY Scholarship, a prestigious two-year European Master’s program designed to unite global talents in creating meaningful game experiences.

REPLAY is hosted by three renowned institutions across Europe: Lusófona University in Lisbon, Portugal; Luca School of Arts in Genk, Belgium; and Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland. This distinctive organizational predisposition enables a Masters student to be fully exposed to a variety of cultures and creative industries, as well as experience the contemporary advances in the game development paradigm.

Students in this program are given the skills to be the future anticipated game development experts as they are given the opportunities to change through the creation and invention of the world they live in. Being an active member of the activity solely ensures a phenomenal experience and plays a paramount role in shaping the evolution of designs of the game.

Requirements and eligibility criteria;

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English.
  • Fulfill the entry requirements of the program and institution.

  • Receive a monthly allowance of 1,400€ for up to 24 months to support living, travel, and installation costs during academic activities.

Application Procedures (How to apply);

All eligible applicants will be evaluated by the consortium based on:

  • Academic performance is judged primarily by previous university studies.
  • Motivation and relevance of the application, considering prior studies, work experience, and career plans as reflected in the CV, motivation letter, and portfolio/showreel.
  • English proficiency, assessed through submitted certificates and an interview.
  • Applicants with the highest scores will be invited to an online interview on a date set by the selection committee. Those not selected for an interview will be notified via email.

Required Documents

  • Complete and submit online by the deadline. Applications by mail are not accepted.
    Provide a copy of your passport (for non-EU applicants) or European ID card (for EU applicants), showing your details and a photo in English.
  • Submit a recent headshot.
  • Include a final Bachelor’s or Master’s diploma meeting the required qualification level. If not in English, provide a certified translation.
  • Outline your professional experience, skills, and projects in game design or production.
  • Explain why you’re applying to REPLAY, detailing your goals, preferred projects, and experiences you aim to create. Limit: 3,000 characters (excluding spaces).
  • Recommendation Letters: Submit 2–3 letters with clear contact details and signatures. Business email and phone numbers are preferred.
  • Post-Mortem: Provide a critical analysis of one or two projects you’ve worked on, highlighting your role, challenges, successes, and lessons learned. Limit: 2,000 characters per project (excluding spaces).
  • Submit a 1-minute video showcasing your relevant projects. Add subtitles for group work to highlight your role.
  • Portfolio: Include a PDF with links to your work, such as websites or gaming platforms.
  • English Proficiency Proof: Submit a certificate meeting the program’s language requirements.
  • Residence Certificate: Provide a certificate issued by your local municipality, employer, or institution, confirming your residence.
  • Ensure all documents meet the specified guidelines and are submitted in the required formats.
