The scholarship provides either a €10,000 or €15,000 reduction in tuition fees. It covers the total tuition fee minus the statutory tuition fee (also known as the home fee).

To apply for the Leiden University Excellence Scholarships in the Netherlands, follow these steps:

Apply for admission to a Master’s program at the university and pay any required acceptance fees (if applicable).
Express your interest in applying for a LExS scholarship within the scholarship section of your online application.
Upload your LExS motivation letter as instructed in your online application. This letter should be a PDF file with a maximum of 500 words, explaining why you should be considered for the award.
Submit your online application, including your LExS application, before the scholarship application deadline.
If you are applying for multiple study programs and want to apply for a LExS scholarship for each, make it clear in each application and upload a separate LExS motivation letter for each program.
