UN Young Professionals Program 2025
The United Nations is therefore calling for interested recent graduates to consider applying for a place in the 2025 Young Professionals Program. They accept applications from bright, young candidates, interested in any subject matter and from the countries less represented in the UN.
The Young Professionals Program targets the young professionals with competitive academic background to join the international civil service in the UN Secretariat. All applicants will sit for an entrance examination and will be trained as professionals to enable them understudy UN careers with a strong foundation.

Requirements and eligibility criteria UN Young Professionals Program 2025
- Applicants must be a nationals of a participating country.
- Applicants must have at least a first-level university degree, such as a relevant Bachelor’s degree or a 3-year equivalent.
- Applicants must be 32 years old or younger in the year of the examination.
- Applicants must be fluent in either English or French.
- The application period typically opens in June each year.

- Submit your application through the Inspira platform.
- Check the basic application criteria on the YPP Home page to ensure you qualify.
- Look for specific job openings related to your exam area on Inspira or the UN Careers Portal.
- Read the job descriptions carefully to see if you meet all the requirements.
- If more than 40 applicants from the same country qualify for an exam area, they will be evaluated based on their education level, fluency in UN languages, and relevant work experience.
- If the exam is in two stages, up to 60 applicants per country per exam area may be invited to the first stage, with a maximum of 40 per country proceeding to the second stage.
