WAAW Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship 2024 for Female African Students
The WAAW Foundation gives yearly STEM scholarships to students studying STEM subjects at African universities, provided they show financial need and are full-time students. Those who receive the scholarship will also need to initiate a STEM Outreach Chapter at their university.
Qualified female African undergraduate students who have been accepted into a college or university in Africa are encouraged to apply for the WAAW Foundation Scholarship for the 2023/2024 academic year.
The WAAW Foundation, established in 2007, is a nonprofit organization founded by Dr. Unoma Okorafor with the aim of supporting and promoting STEM education for African women and girls. Their mission is to bridge the gender gap in STEM fields by offering scholarships, mentorship, and educational opportunities. Through partnerships with institutions across Africa, they empower women to pursue STEM careers, fostering innovation and economic growth on the continent. The foundation provides scholarships, STEM camps, coding workshops, and mentorship programs, helping African women overcome educational barriers and become the next generation of scientists and engineers.

Requirements and eligibility criteria for WAAW Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship 2024 for Female African Students:
- Female students of African origin, residing and studying in Africa.
- Enrolled in an undergraduate B.S. degree program.
- Pursuing STEM-related courses at an African university or college.
- Demonstrated financial need.
- Excellent academic record.
- Active involvement in leadership, volunteering, and community service.
- Age below 32 years.
- Eligible for application: Students in their first, second, or third year of study (for five-year courses).
- Eligible Courses: All fields of Engineering, Computer Science, Science &
- Mathematics-related fields, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Zoology, Agriculture, Geography, Statistics, and more.

Application Procedure for WAAW Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship 2024 for Female African Students (How to apply);
To apply for the WAAW Foundation Scholarship 2023/2024, follow these steps:
Fill out the online application form.
Provide your personal and contact information.
Share details about your educational background and family.
Write a statement of need explaining why you require scholarship funds and how you intend to use them.
Prepare essays that address your career goals, the impact of female education in Africa, your proudest achievement, and why you need a scholarship.
Include two academic/professional references (no recommendation letters or transcripts are required at this stage).
If shortlisted, you will later need to submit two reference letters, a sealed university transcript, and a scanned copy of your school ID card.
Remember, only shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide these additional items. Good luck with your application!

A copy of your current, signed, and sealed university transcript. You should email this transcript to transcripts@waawfoundation.org.
