2022 St Gallen Symposium Global Leadership Challenge for emerging young Leaders
Emerging young Leaders from all over the world are invited to apply for the 2022 St Gallen Symposium Global Leadership Challenge which aims to help emerging leaders to grow in the wisdom and character required for responsible leadership that makes a difference in the world, leadership that doesn’t simply seek to fulfill personal ambition but furthers societies’ sustainable development. The challenge is a joint initiative of the University of Oxford(Social Sciences Division and the Oxford Character Project) and the St. Gallen Symposium, supported by their Main Partners, HCL Technologies, the Lemann Foundation and the Templeton World Charity Foundation, as well as the Knowledge Partners. The challenge is a the five days program that will equip young leaders with the values and skills needed to build a sustainable future.
The challenge will last from 8 to 12 December 2022 and will focus on “A New Generational Contract” as its core theme. The idea of a generational contract captures the principle that different generations depend on each other to provide mutual support across different stages of their lives. It can be most simply described as what generations owe each other n area such as education, environmental protection, and health. The challenge also reminds us that we have a responsibility to be good descendants and ancestors, and to consider the impacts of our actions on all generations by answering these questions: HOW CAN CROSS-GENERATIONAL DIALOGUE AND MENTORING HELP US BECOME MORE RESPONSIBLE LEADERS? AND HOW CAN OUR ACTIONS ENABLE GREATER INTER-GENERATIONAL FAIRNESS AND COLLABORATION?
Eligibility for the 2022 St Gallen Symposium Global Leadership Challenge for emerging young Leaders:
- Applicants must be a student currently registered in a Masters or a PhD program or a young professional between the ages of 21 to 30 years.
- Applicants must have finished their undergraduate studies.
- Applicants must have already shown their commitment to responsible leadership through extra-curricular activities and/or work involvement.
- Applicants must be committed to investing around five half days from 8 to 12 December 2022 in GLC.
- Applicants must actively participate in GLC sessions as it is mandatory to receive a Certificate of Achievement.
