The 2024 World Trade Organization (WTO) is inviting applications from qualified candidates for its Young Professionals Programme. This unique opportunity provides selected young professionals with valuable work experience within the WTO.

The 2024 World Trade Organization Young Professionals Program (YPP) is a prestigious initiative aimed at providing qualified young professionals from eligible developing and least-developed countries with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of international trade and the workings of the WTO. Through the program, participants gain valuable work experience, exposure to international trade issues, and networking opportunities, contributing to their personal and professional growth. It is an exceptional program that creates the chance for eligible young professionals from developing and least-developed countries that are WTO Members to expand their expertise and capabilities in WTO and international trade matters.

The chosen Young Professional will be assigned to a specific division within the WTO Secretariat based on the organization’s needs and priorities, as well as the individual’s areas of interest. Each Young Professional can indicate interest in up to three areas of WTO work, ranked by preference.

Requirements and eligibility criteria for the 2024 World Trade Organization Young Professionals Program:

  • Advanced university degree in law, economics, or other international trade-related subjects relevant to the work of the WTO.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • General knowledge of the work of the WTO.
  • Good drafting skills in English.
  • The ability to draft in French and/or Spanish would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in a multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated strong interest in international trade and the multilateral trading system.
  • Commitment and passion for trade or WTO-related work.

Work Experience:

Minimum two (2) years of professional experience relevant to the work of the WTO.
Languages:

Fluency in English.
A good working knowledge of either French or Spanish would be an advantage.

Eligible Countries:
