Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship 2024
The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) is excited to announce the 7th Global Citizen Scholarship 2024 launch, inviting applications from young African global citizens. The aim is to empower these individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Global Citizen Scholarship (GC Scholarship) offers young African change-makers the chance to make a difference in their communities by working on projects related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants can create and implement localized SDG Micro-Projects, attend summer school, receive peer mentoring, and participate in expert-led training sessions and workshops on various topics.

Requirements and eligibility criteria for Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship 2024:
- African youth regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.
- Age requirement: Applicants must be between 20 and 35 years old.
- Education: Applicants must have completed at least a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Dedication to SDGs: Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to the
- Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the principles of global citizenship.
- English proficiency: Applicants must have a minimum level B2 (European Standards).
- Citizenship: Applicants must hold citizenship from one of the following countries: Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ethiopia, and Kenya.

Application Procedure for Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship 2024 (How to apply);
Interested applicants should know that, During the nomination process, you’ll need to provide:
- Your personal information: Name, contact details, date of birth, address, citizenship, gender, educational background, language skills, and a brief profile description.
- Your professional details: Academic qualifications, organization name, and job title.
Information about your SDG Micro-Project: Title, issues addressed, Sustainable Development Goals targeted, and details about the project’s process and implementation.
In the final stage of the nomination, you’ll be asked to upload:
- A motivational statement explaining why you’re applying.
- A portrait picture of yourself (JPEG or PNG format).
- An introduction video (maximum 30 seconds, MP4 or MOV format) introducing yourself.
- Your CV detailing your academic and professional background.
- An outline of your SDG Micro-Project idea.
