British Academy 2024 Global Professorship Grant welcomes applications from suitably qualified applicants who are international scholars. The British Academy Global Professorship Grant aims to draw the attention of applicants who are well-recognized to work in the United Kingdom.

The British Academy program has concluded to give its full support to researchers who possess ambitious mindsets, and beyond-the-state-of-the-art research that breaks new ground. Individuals with high academic performance are encouraged to apply and they will be provided with a sum of up to £900,000 per award by the Academy.

Requirements and eligibility criteria;

Mid-career and senior researchers in humanities and social sciences.
Must be currently employed outside the UK.
Employment must be on a permanent contract or a temporary contract not ending during the grant.
Exceptions must be pre-approved by the British Academy.

Requirements:

Hold a doctoral degree or equivalent research experience.
Cannot hold more than one British Academy award of a similar nature at the same time.
Cannot be a Principal Investigator (PI) on more than one bid under this Programme.
Must be available for unpaid leave, secondment, or employment at a UK institution.

Restrictions:

Awards are for individuals only; no co-applicants are allowed.
Awards cannot be made retrospectively; work must not start before the award is announced.
Applications must propose new, innovative research.

Support:

A formal statement of support from a senior member of the proposed host institution in the UK is required.
