French Institutes for Advanced Study Fellowship 2025

Application for the French Institutes for Advanced Study (FIAS) Fellowship 2025 program is now open. It’s duration is about 10 months and will take part in the six institutions; Aix Marseille, Loire Valley, Lyon, Montpellier, Nantes, and Paris. Applicants must be qualified domestic or international students who are scholars majorly in the fields of the social sciences and the humanities (SSH).

The selected fellows will gain full support and experience a conducive environment. Not just that also the IAS provides an interdisciplinary group of Masters and PhD fellows and a direct link to the research capacity within the local country. The fellows will have no restrictions on the way they arrange their work and the research process.

Requirements and eligibility criteria French Institutes for Advanced Study Fellowship 2025

Possession of a doctoral degree plus 2 years of full-time research experience after the degree.
Exception for scholars with a Master’s degree plus 6 years of full-time research experience after the degree.
Must fulfill the transnational MSCA mobility rule: not residing or carrying out main activity in France for more than 12 months in the 3 years before the call deadline.
Open to all Social Sciences and Humanities disciplines.

Document Requirements (all documents must be in English):

Completed online application form.
Detailed curriculum vitae including a comprehensive list of publications.
Copy of the diploma.
Detailed research proposal (maximum 5 pages) with a bibliography (1 additional page).
Selection of three to five publications (articles or book chapters).
Letter of support/interest from an IAS’s local scientific partner (mandatory for specific IAS programs).
Optional: Up to two letters of recommendation.
