Suitably qualified Medical Professionals who live and work in any African country aside South Africa are invited to submit application for the 2023 IAMAT-Robert Haru Fisher Travel Medicine Scholarship worth full tuition fee, educational materials, local transportation, and accommodation.
The IAMAT-Robert Haru Fisher Travel Medicine Scholarship is named in memory of Robert Haru Fisher, a committed IAMAT board member, and his partner Harukuni. The scholarship worth full tuition fee and other benefits mentioned above is awarded to a medical professional from any African country aside South Africa who will be given opportunity to participates in clinical observation and attends a travel medicine course offered by the South African Society of Travel Medicine (SASTM). Upon completion of the course, the medical professional will have to returns home to teach their colleagues, improving healthcare for both travelers and local patients.

- Applicants must be a licensed medical professional.
- Applicants must be living and working in an African country aside South Africa where travel medicine is an emerging specialty.
- Applicants must have knowledge in travel medicine.
- Applicants must have the capacity to expand travel medicine in their workplace and country.
- Applicants must make available proof of English language proficiency in writing and speaking.
