Joint Japan World Bank Group Scholarship Program 2023
The Joint Japan World Bank Group Scholarship Program 2023 is now accepting applications from eligible candidates from developing countries who lack access to higher education for the 2023/2024 academic session.
This fully funded scholarship offers the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree. Successful applicants must have prior professional experience and a track record of contributing to their country’s development efforts in a development-related field. The scholarship covers all expenses related to the master’s program for the entire duration of the studies.
The Joint Japan World Bank Group Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) was established in 1987 by the World Bank Group in partnership with the Government of Japan. The program aims to support the development needs of World Bank Group member countries by providing scholarships to individuals from developing countries to pursue graduate studies at universities around the world. Since its inception, the JJ/WBGSP has provided scholarships to more than 6,000 students from developing countries. The program supports a wide range of fields of study, including economics, health, education, agriculture, environment, and engineering. In addition to financial support for tuition, living expenses, and travel, the program also offers opportunities for students to participate in internships, leadership training, and networking events. Upon completion of their studies, JJ/WBGSP scholars are expected to return to their home countries to contribute to the development efforts in their communities. Requirements and eligibility criteria for Joint Japan World Bank Group Scholarship Program 2023:
To be eligible for Joint Japan World Bank Group Scholarship Program 2023, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be a national of a World Bank member developing country.
- Applicants must not hold dual citizenship in any developed country.
- Applicants must be in good health.
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree earned at least 3 years before the Application Deadline date.
- Applicants must have 3 years or more of recent development-related work experience after earning a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree.
- Applicants must be employed in development-related work in a paid full-time position at the time of submitting the scholarship application.
