Selected candidates will undergo a four-year apprenticeship covering instrument and control, electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, and process operations. Through practical training and working with OGTAP sponsoring companies, apprentices earn recognized qualifications and valuable hands-on experience.

Requirements and eligibility criteria for Oil and Gas Technical Apprenticeship Program (OGTAP) 2024:
- Must possess a National Identity Number (NIN) before applying.
- Applicants need to verify their NIN before proceeding with the application (NIMC verification charges apply).
- Multiple applications will result in automatic disqualification.
- Age requirement: Must be between 16 to 35 years old by May of the application year.

Qualifications Needed for Nigerian Applicants for Oil and Gas Technical Apprenticeship Program (OGTAP) 2024:
O’ Level (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS) with a credit grade C in:
- Mathematics
- English
- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
- One other subject
Consideration is given for qualifications in Engineering, Science, or related fields such as:
- Diploma (OND & Others)
- Higher National Diploma (HND/NCE & Others)
- Bachelor Degree (BSc/BENG & Others)
- Post Graduate (PGD/MSC/PHD & Others)
Qualifications needed for Scotland Applicants for Oil and Gas Technical Apprenticeship Program (OGTAP) 2024:
Four National 5 Grades A-C or equivalent in:
- Mathematics
- English
- Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering Science
- One other subject
- Consideration given for alternative qualifications in Mathematics and English.
Qualifications needed for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland Applicants:
Four GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 4 or above in:
- Mathematics
- English Language
- Double Science or Physics, Chemistry, or an appropriate Technological subject
One other subject - Consideration given for alternative qualifications in Mathematics and English.
- For International qualifications, equivalence to the program’s entry requirements must be demonstrated.
