The Tony Elumelu Storytellers Fund is pleased to announce open for application submissions from upcoming artists, journalists and content creators including bloggers, Vloggers, and podcasters whose work gives a more contemporary and authentic narrative of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs in Africa. The Fund will award Grants worth about $2000 to each selected applicant. The project is jointly funded by Heirs Insurance and Heirs Life Assurance.
Tony Elumelu whose real names are Anthony Onyemaechi Elumelu was born on March 22, 1963, he is a Nigerian economist, and philanthropist. He chairs Heirs Holdings, Transcorp and founder of The Tony Elumelu Foundation. In 2020, Elumelu was named on Time’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Eligibility for the Tony Elumelu Storytellers Fund 2022 for emerging African storytellers:
- Interested applicants must be between the age of 18 and 35 and living in Africa or in the Diaspora.
- Interested applicants must already have a platform or portfolio of work that shifts stereotypical narratives about youth and entrepreneurship in Africa.
Projects Funded for the Tony Elumelu Storytellers Fund 2022 for emerging African storytellers:
The Tony Elumelu Storytellers Fund 2022 is awarded to content creators in two categories namely: Media and Arts.
Media categories includes Bloggers, Vloggers and Journalists. Examples of projects: A series of published articles identifying innovative technology entrepreneurs, a Vlog that showcases entrepreneurs in underrepresented areas, a blog that shines the light on new African innovation.
Arts categories will be made to photographers, filmmakers, sketch artists, painters, and digital artists. Examples of projects: A lighthearted, comedic short film telling the story of an 11-year-old budding entrepreneur, a photography series of Africa’s Top entrepreneurs and many more.
