Any person for the ADB-Japan Scholarship 2025 is encouraged to apply. This prestigious opportunity is open for students from the ADB’s developing member countries who are willing and capable of pursuing a master’s degree program in any field inclusive of economics, business and management science, science and technology, or any field of development.

The scholarship covers all fees for studies in some of the best universities in Asia and the Pacific region: an opportunity to acquire progressive knowledge and skills to enable the beneficiaries be in a position to contribute to the developmental initiatives of their respective countries.

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria;

  • Must be a national of an ADB borrowing member country and a Japanese ODA scholarship-eligible country.
  • Should not hold dual citizenship with any developed country.
  • Must have gained admission to an approved master’s course at a Designated Institution.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a strong academic record.
  • Have at least two years of full-time professional work experience after obtaining a university degree.
  • Proficiency in oral and written English.
  • Must be 35 years old or younger (exceptions in rare cases with Japan’s endorsement).
  • Must be in good health.
  • Agree to return to and work in their home country for at least two years after the completion of studies to contribute to its development.
  • Not be related to ADB staff, management, or consultants.
  • Not be staff at ADB–JSP Designated Institutions.
  • Must not be living or working outside their home country.
  • Should not already be enrolled in graduate programs.
