Requirements and eligibility criteria for Commonwealth PhD Scholarships 2023:
- Citizenship: Hold citizenship or have been granted refugee status by a Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person.
- Residency: Be a permanent resident of an eligible Commonwealth country.
- PhD Registration: Be enrolled for a PhD program at a university in an eligible Commonwealth country at the time your Scholarship commences (September 2023).
- Institutional Link: Ensure there is an institutional or departmental connection between your home university and the UK university you propose to study at. Both of your supervisors must provide a supporting statement that outlines the details of this connection to ensure your application is eligible.

- Academic Qualifications: Hold a first degree of at least an upper second class (2:1) honors standard by September 2023. Alternatively, possess a lower second-class degree along with a relevant postgraduate qualification, usually a Master’s degree.
